the mural has a sponsorship?
Yeah, I'm curious about all this....
uhhh, all of the tat's cru work is sponsored. that is their deal these days. embarassing if you ask me. especially that they painted over the old skool work on 2nd street at ave A a couple of years back and now there is a scion advert.
Thanks, anon... I didn't realize all their work was sponsored...
well, most of their work is sponsored. in between sponsored work they put up their own originals. but they "reserve" the space...all very corporate.
Their murals on 2nd Street near Ave. A were never sponsored until a few weeks back. They ended up painting over half their mural and throwing up an ad. Before that there weren't any. I guess they need to earn the cash in order to do it full time, but it definitely takes away from the image and feel of it all.
It's hard to maintain that constant balance between art and career.
Huh? I don't even understand what's happening in this picture. Why is there a photo credit if it's painted? Is it a painting of a photo? If it's sponsored, do they have to get approval of the image before they paint it? Do they go to meetings to decide this? I have so many questions.
