Cafes and ties in the Financial District

1) The Klatch cafe at 9 Maiden Lane remains closed. The owner was reportedly three months behind in her rent.



As Downtown Express reported April 10, other businesses are hurting on Maiden Lane.

2) Indeed. A place called Andrew's Ties abruptly closed up shop a few months back at 24 Maiden Lane.





3) Yesterday, the Jou Jou Cafe opened in the former Andrew's space, which is less than a 1/2 block from Klatch.



4) Just down Maiden Lane a block and a 1/2 block north on Williams Street, a new tie shop is opening soon.



Almost makes sense.
