Fire trucks at Fifth Street and First Avenue

Around 6 p.m. Turned out to be a false alarm. But it provided for a few moments of drama.

And people watching.

I love coming home to find fire trucks outside my building and a bunch of cops standing around, staring at the roof. Nothing beats that heart-attack moment when I think of my cat and where the hell I might have to spend the night.

this used bucket trucks guy is hilarious. he wrote on "little stories...." and i mean, really, bucket trucks? are people REALLY in the market for used bucket trucks?!? sure, here's 40,000 for a used bucket truck that oh, i'm sure i'll use once. unless, like, i work up and high above and actually need one and therefore, probably know where to get one.

or, as brett says, it could be to get superman's autograph as he's flying by.

oh, always out-joking me.

What kind of mileage do bucket trucks get in the city anyway?

I think the used bucket truck guy has done his research and found the right demographic to promote his website, here in the East Village. Maybe he thought it was the East Village of Des Moines.

Oh sorry I was side tracked by the bucket truck guy. What I meant to say was that firemen are so much less compelling than they used to be since the bar has been raised so high by Rescue Me.

I love bucket trucks and used ones are even better because they are more affordable!
