An appreciation of Chico's work

We noted some of Chico's new work last week... After the spay/neuter sign disappeared, figured that I may want to chronicle some of Chico's work... As he has said, Chico figures that he has done 7,000 murals around the city the past 30 years. Here are a few of those murals.

Great collection of Chico's work--a few of these I have not seen as yet.

I've got a large collection of Chico mural photos, but it seems I keep finding news ones regularly. I remember seeing his artwork around the EV before I moved here and it was something that made me feel this was a real 'neighborly' neighborhood. Back then, there were a lot more memorials (many have since been painted over) and I found that so touching.

I agree with you, Goggla. His work does bring that feeling of community spirit to the neighborhood. (I also think the same thing about the Mosaic Man's work...)

thanks for posting! i having a recurring stupid argument with my friend that the mural on c and 6th (used to be the LOISAIDA mural) which is now hello obama, goodbye bush, is actually not bush. she's convinced it's cheney or kim jong il.
