On St. Patrick's Day, a Christmas miracle in Tompkins Square Park

Upon walking in Tompkins Square Park last night... I was, quite frankly, not surprised, to see the holiday tree all lit up for the first time in a few months...

I noticed in January that no one had actually ever removed all the lights... and the extension cord was still lying there...

So, a fellow decided to take a rest under the tree last evening, and he apparently plugged in the tree...

We were out walking last evening, enjoying the nice weather and noticed a few homes with Xmas lights still up. Then we got to this one block, and 3 houses in a row each still had their wreaths on the front door, one yard still has Rudolph and Santa in the yard, and one still had these HUGE, guady lights hanging from the roof. They must REALLY love Xmas on that block. Or there's an epidemic of laziness there - one of the two. Or both...

Obviously, we're all time-travelers stuck in a random loop. Who knows what time of year it is or even what year it is? A girl passed me on the street the other day and said, "I need a new Swatch!" At the same time, a car drove by blasting Depeche Mode. 1986? December? Who knows! There's an old lady wearing a fur coat on a 90 degree day, while a guy jogs around in shorts while it snows. Throw your calendars into the wood chipper, put up your festive Indian restaurant lighting extravaganza and enjoy the trip!

(btw, the coffee is extra good today)

@Goggla. Wow. Yes! I am enjoying the trip, though the free coffee at work kind of sucks.
