Chloe Sevigny shows off her new David Lee Roth collection

Well, not really. But. Chloe Sevigny does a photo shoot yesterday outside the St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery... Per the Daily Mail:

Chloe Sevigny’s chic fashion sense seemed to have deserted her as she posed by a statue in a baggy animal-print one piece and clunky platform boots for a fashion shoot in New York.

With her blonde tresses slicked back in a masculine style flick, Sevigny embraced her androgynous side as she posed for shots in the trendy East Village area of Manhattan, where she has an apartment.

shes always cool, maybe too cool, cause I have no idea what that is shes wearing. But, I categorically support Chloe, so I guess I have to go w it, win some, lose some.

She is so amazing on Big Love, and I love that she still calls the East Village home. I wonder if she has a cat...

A few years ago, before I knew she lived near St. Marks, I was walking down Stuyvesant St. (I think that's right) fairly early, maybe 8:30am, and this woman in a terry cloth onesie and big hair stumbles out of a building, through the gate, dragging a couple of trash bags. She reminded me of my Little Italy neighbors who used to sit on the street in the summer and scream at each other in the hall. I figured she was, oh, 65. She struggled with the trash and the gate and I walked around her. Yep, at that point I realized it was freaking Cloe with a serious hangover. That was weird enough but what made it even odder was that I first ran into Chloe maybe five years earlier, just before Kids, when she was living over the Savoy on Crosby and she used to visit hipsters, to get stoned apparently, who lived in my building on Spring St. where, doh, we both marveled over the elderly Italian women who ran the building. Anyway, I've thought that much of Cloe's, fashion, um, sense comes from the ladies of Mulberry St. Hmmm, I wonder if she's still local enough to read the mighty EVgrieve?

"the trendy east village"... it's kind of a permanent prefix now isn't it?
