Outside, a woman walked by carrying flowers... which she laid on the street. "Someone needs to put flowers here," she said.

I was happy (and surprised) to see them open today. So sad to know people were hurt so badly...and now news that someone has died. I can't help but think this could have been avoided if people just obeyed traffic laws more carefully. What was once a really nice relaxing corner where you could sit and feel safe...well, now you just don't know. My condolences to everyone involved.
I would like to clarify that I was only one of many people helping the injured at the scene of this accident. There was one man holding that young man's head the entire time. There were men and women at each injured person, helping and offering solace and comfort. They all showed a great deal of compassion till the medical units arrived. Makes me proud of New Yorker's all over again. p.s. I did know one them has passed away.. I am heartbroken
Jordyn,
Thank you for the comment. I'm very sorry to hear that one of the victims from the accident has died.
