No, you can't compare it to CBGB. Blarney Cove habitue's are real alcoholics, so if they think it's gross, you know you're at the bottom of the barrel...
I had a 60+ year old man ask me to do lines with him in the bathroom at the Cove. He also wanted me to go across the street to his apartment so he could "draw me". Because I value my life, I had to decline both offers. God I love that place.

By the way
Here, you'll find things that you may or may not be interested in about the East Village and other parts of New York City. Appreciating what's here while it's still here. Remembering what's no longer here. Wishing some things weren't here that are here.

Compared to Mars Bar, BC's bathrooms look like the Ritz...and I don't have to bring my own paper.
@goggla true. in the grand scheme of things, these are pretty clean restrooms.
@Erin Ha! And that "may I draw you?" line never works!
I would expect EV Heave to visit here, not EV Grieve!
I love the Blarney Cove!
ha ha ha - it smells!
Arguably the best bar in the East Village.
@Jill I'm not suppose to endorse any bars since I own 17 of them and sit on the local community board.
Regardless, I likely agree!
