Joe Strummer mural on Seventh Street helping sell an apartment — on 11th Street

In an otherwise innocuous ad for an expensive apartment, one thing stands out...

The three-bedroom unit in question is on East 11th Street. Not exactly close to Seventh Street and Avenue A, where the Joe Strummer mural resides. Perhaps the realtor should have "The Magnificent Seven" playing on the site too.

I used to live directly above the apartment. The mural sold it for me at the time, that was until I got fed up with Niagara noise. Not sure 4 blocks away warrants a mentions though!

Julie's been working for the drug squad, so now I can afford this apartment.

I saw a "three bedroom" apt. for rent on St. Marx once. If you followed the base molding, you could see that they took a large studio and sectioned it off with two new walls to create the illusion of THREE bedrooms. Each "room" was so small that a mattress couldn't fit in. A few weeks later, the place was rented to a bunch of NYU students!!
