Why there were 9 police cars on 14th and Third this morning

Earlier this morning, a lot of police cars responded to the corner of 14th Street and Third Avenue. There were nine police cars total. And swarms of uniforms. 15? 18?

Given the police presence, it must have been something really important. So, the guy here was something about having his wallet and cellphone taken by these two people...

...over here. Police kept them separated. Asked questions.

And the traffic backed up while the officers worked to resolve the issue.

With all those cops there, I was sure a chess table was involved. I guess not.

There was a fight between two groups of homeless, about 8-10 people on total, but one group had a pitbull that was involved.

Started in front of the ConEd building and moved down the block, the dog was going crazy at anyone around, not sure if it bit anyone, but it was in the middle of the fight.

Crusty homeless people? There are a couple groups of crusties who hang out near there. I think I've seen a pitbull or two with them. Just curious. That might explain a lot of cops showing up figuring they'd end arresting a bunch of people with outstanding warrants, etc.

welcome to the new bowery where being rich gets you preferential police protection. if you dress nice, the cops will ALWAYS take your side. guaranteed.

whatever happened to the real police of yesteryear. all the police that leave the academy are all fucking useless societal rejects that don't have a fucking clue or a brain.

the cops heard that there was a drunk woman and they rushed to be the first to be on the scene to "assist" her
