Starbucks makes it official on First Avenue

It wasn't a dream ... EV Grieve reader Marjorie Ingall passes along this photo taken at 49 1/2 First Avenue, the former home of The Bean ... As you know, Starbucks is taking over this space ... And here's some evidence... a shot of the architectural drawings and notes that were lying on a window seat on display last evening ...

Next stop, Hell.

I've never spent one dime in Starfucks and never will. I wish everybody else would do the same, then they'd go away, instead of multiplying like bedbugs.

I'd be sadder if The Bean had been something other than a crappy push-button coffee shop.

Just don't patronize the establishment, and encourage others not to as well. I'm a deli coffee guy, so neither of these places are hurt by the lack of my business.

Are we sure The Bean isn't a front for Starbucks, gradually moving into the EV then later suddenly revealing themselves to be Starbucks when it's too late to protest?

YAY I love you Starbucks!!! Can't wait to enjoy my delicious mochas every morning. All you other commenters don't realize that the small coffee shops in the ev are screwing you at $4.50 for a small so-so latte--small business does not equal good business

Damn, Jill ... I love a good conspiracy theory, and yours is intriguing.
