Summer is still sizzlin' — street fair! Street fair!

Just in case you missed these same vendors every weekend this summer.... you're in luck! Fourth Avenue today, from 14th Street to Astor Place...

Be careful what you tease. I'm sure there's a bunch of free range, artisanal, hydroponic, organic, sustainable, recylable, local grown Brooklyn business who are dying for a chance to take over this celebration of stick meat and sell $30 bars of chocolate.

honestly? you wouldn't rather have organic/sustainable/blah blah than disgusting stick meat and tube socks? sure the "artisinal" thing, like all trends, have reached an annoying level, but at least those are some good eats. these "street fairs" (more like 14th St. run amok) are a joke and a waste of space. without changing up the offerings, one or two of these a summer, max, are all we need.

Sure we don't need to have these street fairs every 5 minutes, but no, I don't want to see a bunch of Brooklyn businesses come in with their over priced, pretentious as hell food and push out the local merchants because they're so... like, ethnic 'n stuff.

Give it a few years. The Dubai-ification of the Bowery will deem these fairs too low class. Enjoy them now.

I love street fairs. It's either that or doing the laundry. Need socks, t-shirts and underwear. Thanks for reminding me, EV.

Uncle Walty,

Add to that bed sheets, Suave conditioner and an Alien fabricated from recycled motorcycle parts and I say you'd have a productive weekend!

I did see that alien standing outside Tokyo Joe's.

Always wondered: where do these stick-meat/fried foods/sausage (and arepas and lemonade) carts go between street fairs? Same place as all the hot dog carts?

Some of them are parked in a garage on East 4th Street, between Lafayette & Third. Your hot dog may be 7 weeks old, but who's counting.
