I can't really get a close up of his face, but I do believe that this man is Ritchie Wong. I think that's his name.
He's a musician. He can play many instruments and he sings. He has an unbelievable ability to play and sing songs where he spontaneously changes the lyrics incorporating lyrics from other songs as well as adding his own lyrics.
He is very gifted and likes to hang out and perform here in the East Village. He works at the Whole Earth Bakery.
He is what is referred to as an "Outsider Artist".
That is his stage. I saw him there this summer wailing on a guitar. He was doing a Prince cover. Damn good! I forget the lyrics he was incorporating, but it was "Raspberry Beret", and he was singing something like....She wore a ra...attlesnake hat....something like this. He also performs in the L train station. Very sweet. Very approachable.
If anyone has an extra guitar hanging around I'm sure he would appreciate it.
I was on the L train with him today and he was hilarious - announcing each stop, "Welcome to 6th Avenue, where you can enjoy Ricky's and their fabulous costumes! This is 8th Avenue - enjoy your dancing and karaoke!" He also sang a song to the tune of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, but used lyrics about a female deer with a nice waist who used special toothpaste.
Here, you'll find things that you may or may not be interested in about the East Village and other parts of New York City. Appreciating what's here while it's still here. Remembering what's no longer here. Wishing some things weren't here that are here.

Lady Gaga? (First! Sorry esquared and Lux Living.)
That's Richard!! He volunteers at the vegan bakery in St. Marks. Great guy, he sings the funniest songs in subway, usually L stop at 1st Ave.
