CUT!

A film crew in Tompkins Square Park today didn't appreciate photographers standing around this public space...

Bobby wasn't wearing the requisite "color of the day" crew identifier color.

I hate when film crews act like they are doing the most important work in the world.

My rule of thumb about film crews stopping me while I'm walking on the sidewalk:

1. If they ask nicely, I stop and wait.

2. If they holler at me, or say "You have to stop.", or are otherwise rude and/or stupid, I do not stop. Period.

I've had breathtakingly rude crew members grab me or try to block me. I don't push, I don't argue, I just turn directly toward where the shooting/action is and start walking. That usually results in in someone screaming "Cut! Cut!" and I walk on.

I'm okay with filming in the the 'hood but I'm not okay with rude/illegal crews taking advantage of their permit.
