Say it isn't so!: Daryl Hall prevents us from dining on banh mi sandwiches last night

So, last night, Goggla headed over to the always-tasty Bánh mì Zòn on East Sixth Street near Avenue A and...

Hey now.

Perhaps the greatest note explaining why a restaurant is closed that we've seen ...ever? (Probably not. But what the hell.)

Now. Everyone please feather your hair and report to the dance floor.

(And here is more about Live from Daryl's House...)

If Darryl hall had an extra $189,000, he could have served Hot Dogs, Chicken, Fish & Chips, Wings from Pudgie's/Nathan's/Arthur Treacher's f-food conglomerate instead.

There's an alternate video for this song that shows our hirsute duo bopping away on one of those west side piers that poke into the Hudson:

That is so frakin weird--last night I almost came down here for a sandwich. Good for them and good for Daryl Hall for supporting real music.

Is this place the one that used to be the vegetarian viet place? Must be fairly new, never knew it was there. Ususally get my banh mi from Paris Cafe on Mott Street.

They were contacted by Daryl Hall's management, who wanted banh mi made as the cooking part of an episode of "Live from Daryl's House" (http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com) being taped upstate.

Banh Mi Zon was apparently recommended as the best in NYC.

The program is due to air in January 2013. Go in and ask them about it, they have pictures on their computer, and they had no idea that their sign was up on EV Grieve!

And now, back to my spicy banh mi classic with iced Vietnamese coffee...

Ah, thanks for that, Galwegian!

This reminds me of the time that Veselka was closed to cater Steve Perry's holiday party.

That's a fine reason. It's a great show, by the way. Daryl Hall has aged with grace and brings in a great variety of excellent musicians to jam, talk, cook, and hang out on the show. Really good vibe to the series.
