Inside the Peter Cooper Suite with the CU 11

The 11 Cooper Union students remain barricaded in a room at the top of the Cooper Union Foundation Building ... where they are protesting the possibility of school officials charging tuition to undergraduates... And now there's a video (in MTV Cribs fashion!) showing the inside of the Peter Cooper Suite where the students have been holding forth since noon Monday...

A little background, via the Huffington Post:

Throughout the school's 110 year history as a college, since 1902, it has not charged tuition. That changed in April, when the administration announced that it will begin charging graduate students, and a document leaked to the occupiers shows undergraduate tuition for certain programs is under consideration.

And a scene from earlier today via Bobby Williams...

Sigh.

I actually was beginning to feel sympathetic to their cause until this.

Thank you so much for your continued and unbiased coverage of this story!

So, their sole argument in defense of their demand is that free tuition is a 110 year old "tradition"?

What startling reverence young people hold for tradition, when it happens to correspond with their desires.

Yeah, painting an entire generation with the same huge brush and then just writing them off is completely what we should do in any argument, and totally not one any other generation before us has done to the next.

These young kids need to just get off our lawn.

The students should be performing a public audit of the books.

Good morning, I am a Cooper Union student and would like to thank you guys for covering our actions, the support of our community is as important as the support of our students. Tomorrow, Saturday, we have planned a city wide walk in order for all students, faculty, and members of our community to come together and show solidarity. https://www.facebook.com/events/573964845952525/?notif_t=plan_admin_added Please feel free to spread the word and mention the event. Thank you

@nygrump - not a bad idea. I was actually hoping those records would have come out before now. Has anyone done an investigation?
