The Winslow Public House opening next month on East 14th Street

Work continues at 243 E. 14th St., where The Winslow Public House is scheduled to open next month here between Second Avenue and Third Avenue (IHOP Way!) ....

According to the Winslow website:

Boasting a warm and inviting aura, the focus of General Managers Aidan Fogarty, Mark Tafoya, and Jeff Winslow is upon capturing the essence of a classic British inspired public house and eatery. Although the bar will be stocked with 20 different types of old world/new world and British beer on tap, a batch of unique cocktails by Dominic Venegas, a talented mixologist and part of a James Beard Award nominated team, will garnish the menu.

There are photos of menu items and the renovated interior on the website.

In fairly quick succession, the space was previously home to Bishops and Barons and Hype Lounge.

God, how I hate the word "mixologist".

It's been a doomed space since Bambou left, but here's another restaurant group throwing spaghetti at the wall: sports didn't work, so now they're trying out pretentious. Good luck with that. Take a look across the street, guys.

Spaghetti on the wall. That'll be their specialty. Waiter throws spaghetti at the wall and the customers will either be eating the spaghetti from the wall or scoop it up in to their plates or a hoof for $3 extra. Price, $36. Oooh, yeah,

A mixologist is a trained monkey who can combine alcohol with different types of infused syrups and flavored bitters whilst acting cool. The longer you wait for your cocktail the better, apparently.
My apologies to all the cute monkeys out there, didn't mean to insult.

"aura" + "eatery" + "mixologist" = tired old formula = bound to fail.

I'm so excited for the Winslow to open -- these guys run a stellar place up in Hell's Kitchen, and I can't wait for their new EV spot!

A couple of you folks seem a little lost. You'll probably be more at home here.

The newbie's unbridled enthusiasm over this place is suspect to say the least! What, the owners googled their own business's name and found the post and told all their 'friends' to post positive comments? Harumph!

Let's see: 3 General managers, a mixologist, a fine dining chef with a Beard award.... Sounds just like your everyday British pub.

Another in a long line of selfish noisy neighbors. They are continuing to be bad noisy neighbors.
Asked repeatedly to not disturb and stay out of our buildings space . They continue. Please do not patronize let them die just as hype and bishops did.

Even though they have been repeatedly been and a sign has been posted They use our space and making noise continuing to disturb the neighbors.
They have not had much traffic while other bars nearby are busy maybe its Because of their selfish attitude. If you go in there please tell them to be good neighbors and stay out of our space and stop stealing the quiet enjoyment of my Domicile

After a nice talk with a Manager at The Winslow.
I am happy to report.
There has been great improvements and even though I still hear some noises once so often . It is obvious they are BEING not just "trying" to be good neighbors. So it is easy to embrace a "noise" as "Oh" The Winslows are Home-- " I have got to stop By and say Hello" Thanks .
Another noise disturbing neighbor
Joey Pepperoni on the other hand Leaves their jet engine fan on all night because we complain about The fan and the noise they make in the common fire egress area {an area only for fire egress not a closet, not a smoking lounge, not a place to slam crap when you are mad at your lousy boss and low paying crappy job, also not garbage slamming space}.
Winslow has access to and has stopped using because of noise. They understand the fact that the space amplifies all sound.

The Winslow is the first in SIX neighbor business that have responded as a human should. I say go enjoy The Winslow they have already succeed in being human and are the only neighbor to do so.
Every other Joey Pepperoni, Bishops and Barons, Hype Lounge, Meatball Factory, even Bait and hook did nothing till they got a fine.
The world needs people like the Winslow Owners-- They Care That's a great world and a great business attitude. All other business should take Notice. Esp the owners of the building where Joey Peperonis is. That say they will help and don't. Their name BilDiricis Joseph and David. Men Who put nickles above lives Go Winslow Go !! Show the world you can thrive as a business and still Be Human !!

This place the Winslow upscale Eatery is the worst they want to be a traditional English pub. They are not they are a dive bar that doesn't look like it but sounds like it but definitely costs many times more than other NYC bars and Clubs in the east Village. Too high priced too much che che and not enough truth. Drink and eat elsewhere.

Tired of their selfish posted that removed the noise they have not. They could fix with sound insulation . But They Are Eatery So wont. They are selfish overpriced can't pay the rent on the food so they have get people drunk and slam the neighborhood with loudv thumping. I really y gave the much time. I'm tired and disturbed by these selfish Drunk mskers.
