"I hate to say this, but if I see one more 7-Eleven, I’m going to throw up." — Gale Brewer, Manhattan Borough President, at an event this morning, responding to a question about small-business opportunities.

OK, already in the top 10 of the most depressing EV photos of 2014. So wrong. But this is the NYUEV.

Weird, I've never, ever, ever heard the name "Gale Brewer". Ever.

I had the pleasure to meet Gale a few years ago at a community meeting and she is a life-long advocate for working class people and affordable housing. As opposed to Dan Garodnick, who has this strange idea that converting StuyTown to condos is somehow helping to keep it affordable.

Unfortunately Rosie Mendez backed Garodnick's failed bid for City Council speaker, so now she's on the outs with the new city council. Luckily between Gale, Bill De Blasio and the new speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, we have a much better group of people dealing with community issues like 7-11 and housing now than we ever had with Bloomberg and Quinn.

Yeaha Gale! Now lets legislate! Restricted Zoning like they did uptown to limit big box and banks on the blocks.

We feel you Gale.

@Eden Bee - Please speak for yourself. I may agree with Gale, but if she's going to throw up, I'd rather maintain my distance.

anon 6:15--do you vote? you must have at least seen her name on ballot. She also spent a great deal of time campaigning down here at schools, & bus stops, and farmers market with many local residents

Gale also showed up to a protest to speak against the Spectra Pipeline. Thanks Gale for truly being a voice of the people!
