Exciting new business opens on University Place

At East 11th Street … formerly home to Jack Bistro, which closed last fall.

Now neighbors to the European Wax Center, which opened in the space last held by the Cedar Tavern.

To me that location will always be the former home of the Village Voice. That was back when I moved to NYC and the Voice still seemed mythical and exciting to a transplant from Smallville.

I can't pass the "wax" without thinking about the Cedar Tavern...truly a strange transformation.

TD Bank Branch # 847, your presence truly enhances the uniqueness and energy of the Village community.

That block was home to the legendary Piano Bar "Bradley's", where one could listen to the A-List of Jazz pianists for hours, all for the price of a beer. While the Cedar Tavern indubitably was a great place , Bradley's was the anchor of University Place.

I don't understand the presence of yet another bank. When someone goes in there to have an inquiry to a teller, they redirect you to a customer service rep. and then when you ask the customer service rep., they tell you to go call the bank's number. Beside, people would rather pay by credit cards and debit cards and e-wallet and deposit via their apps.
