4:24 p.m., 176 First Ave., Dec. 5

So much for De Robertis closing at 3 today… the crowds keep coming in… not much product left, though.

A Fox 5 crew left just before 4.

I wish that beautiful old interior could be preserved.

The fella sitting on the far right with his thumb sticking up, is an actor and musician who was telling his memories of playing folk music in DeRobertis during the mid 2K's and many other interesting tidbits.
Not in the picture, was a whole family of three generations who sat at the table next to him. The grandfather spoke about his memories of his parents taking him to Derobertis as a kid.
A reporter from the Villager was jotting it all down.
Should also mention they are selling Derobertis paraphernalia, like capuccino mugs and spoons, trays and other things.
They also handed out some complimentary mini cupcakes around 3:30pm.

I passed by around 6pm in the rain without an umbrella just to mope by it closed in a fitting style but found it somehow still open with a few pastries left so I went in and managed to get one last bag of tarts and brownies to my melancholy delight. It's going to be hard to eat the last one. We'll miss you, DeRobertis!
