Morning!

It's really a nice morning out. Mostly. A reader shared this...

Here on East Sixth Street between Avenue A and B, we opened our doors to quite a spectacle of nature this morning. Pigeons feasting on a large pool of food waste right in the middle of the street... Can't wait until the rats show up!

Really glad someone seems to have thought it would be funny to throw a garbage bag in the middle of the street for cars to crush. Such a refreshing change from the overturned trash cans on the corner of 6th and A.

Apparently a resident will grab a shovel to remove this, but…

I really want to see the meathead who did this clean it up. With his or her bare hands, ideally.

Went to bed last night and it was relatively quiet however it didn't last long, shit show began at 1:30. I wish the cops would give out intoxicated in public summons the city would make a fortune and the rest of us could actually get some sleep.

I recall Giuliani's no tolerance for public drinking which meant, 3 people could not share a bottle of chardonnay in a park, holding a beer can on a sidewalk was a fine, a friend got a fine throwing a empty beer can (not his) after he picked it up from the sidewalk to dispose of it. Today shit faced 20 somethings are free to do whatever they want and get a pass.

We live in a fratboy/girl culture fueled by drugs, booze and noise(music?). What's the surprise?

That's Sixth Street? I thought it was the hallway of my apt. building, which 20-somethings abuse in a similar way.

I wish the cops would patrol the neighborhood at least on weekend nights and issue tickets for public drunkenness. It is insane how the idiots who have taken over the neighborhood get away with this behavior. I guess it helps them that they are white and either go to NYU or work on Wall Street. The cops apparently aren't going to touch them.

There's no such law as public drunkenness.

1st avenue between one and one and karma is quite the shit show , lots of people on the sidewalks smoking weed yelling and being ass holes , yet the police prescence is ZERO.
why when the precinct is 1 more block away do the ignore this .
