Old Flat Top apparently has a new friend

[EVG photo from August 2011]

There was a time when you would see Old Flat Top (rear) with its friend the Free Willie Nelson (front) around the neighborhood, mostly on East Third Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue near where owner Ron Britt lived. Until the Free Willie Nelson — a 1973 Dodge Mahal Travco — caught on fire on East Sixth Street back in September 2011. And we never saw the Free Willie Nelson again...

Old Flat Top remained around... and now, as EVG regular Salim notes, OFT looks to have a new friend... spotted earlier on East Third Street...

At this point we don't know if the second RV is a new resident or just visiting...

I got home on Saturday after being away for a week and was soo happy to see the new RV! Old Flat Top looked so lonely. I was at the Edge a few years back and Ron was there and we got to talking. He tossed me the keys to the Free Willie and told me to check it out. Best day ever!

Annoyingan we all live in cars now?

These two RVs need to take a hike because they're taking up SIX parking spaces and only drawing the attention and ire of some residents who will complain enough that the city will ban RVs thus these two will have contributed to if not caused themselves the banning of RVs. Stop drawing attention and separate. Plenty of spaces to park in. This looks like the beginnings of an RV park.

only reason those junks don't get ticketed is because they are registered wrong. this is what happens, when the owner goes to register the vehicle for the first time they lie about the gross vehicle weight and put down that it's under 10,000lbs ..this is done to save money, the heavier the more expensive it is to register, it's also gets a different cheaper inspection sticker and more importantly it allows it to be registered it as a light passenger vehicle so it can park on the street....how I know this? well I've been a nys car inspector for 20+ years, I know all the tricks.
