The Tang bringing Chinese noodles and wraps to 120 1st Ave.

Over on First Avenue next to the International, a new restaurant is in the works...

EVG correspondent Steven spotted friendly signage up from the proprietors behind The Tang, "a contemporary Chinese noodle bar" ...

The Tang expects to be open in late July here between Seventh Street and St. Mark's Place. The previous tenant, Wechsler's Currywurst and Bratwurst, closed in December 2014 after nearly five-plus years in business.

What a beautifully civilized & considerate note they posted. It heartens me to see that such lovely sentiments are still alive and well, and I will certainly be checking them out as soon as they are open for business!

This is being done in such the right way there ought to be an EV Grieve award for "Most Considerate New Business" or some such. Well done!

The noise pollution tax around here is increasing exponentially. Why? Because they can. Kudos to this business for at least acknowledging what they are inflicting. They are luxurizing yet another building here on 6th Street - 332 E 6th - they are cutting metal with their windows open and it is brutal. I just walked over to Key Food on 4th and A from 6th and 1st and counted at least 5 other active loud construction sites.

Enough with the noodles, ice cream, bagels etc.

Doesn't anyone eat a full meal anymore? A nutritious one?

2:24 nails it with that last line. What else is there to do around here? Can't even really shop for cool shit anymore. This is little more than a drunk/foodie destination and a twee one at that.

I think a lot of people would disagree with you that noodles and wraps aren't a "full meal."
