A change in food vendors on 1st Avenue and 6th Street

Just noting the arrival this past weekend of a gyro-falafel cart on First Avenue at Sixth Street... this prompted several readers to ask what happened to the fruit-vegetable vendor who's usually here. I last saw him on Saturday afternoon...

The Fruit Guys are here from Easter - Halloween (well, a little later that Easter this year bc it was so early). November 1 they are always gone with the wind - heard them packing up in the middle of the night

The fruit guys permit expires on Oct 31st.

He told me he was leaving Oct 31 because they don't get enough customers in the winter.

I feel so ashamed.

Im glad they will be back! I go there every day and I went up to the new junk for cart and kept asking for fruit in a pathetic way and he tried to sell me a beef patty.

@Eden Bee

Is a beef patty not a fruit? If you prick it, doth it not bleed? If you squeeze it, doth it not ooze? If you tickle it, doth it not ...

never mind; not going to go there.

He could have at least thrown some leaves on it for me.

Gross. Bring back the fruit guyy. Sick of these filthy drunk sidewalk spilling beasts with cart food.
