Long-empty storefront starting with a clean slate on 6th Street

And in news about new dry cleaners... there is a dry cleaners (Magnolia!) coming to 514 E. Sixth St. between Avenue A and Avenue B.

As far as I can recall, this space has been empty since Betola Espresso Bar closed in June 2013.

Isn't there already a dry cleaners on that block?

Eventually, this neighborhood will only have four kinds of businesses: dry cleaners, nail salons, gyms, and bars. What more do you need, right? (Oh, and maybe the tui na/reflexology/massage places that some people are forced to substitute for actual health care; the trend will probably continue and explode. You heard it here first.)

Don't forget juice bars, since they, too, will be an integral part of Chumpcare - no one will be able to afford meds so we'll have to substitute oj instead.

The dry cleaner on this block closed several months ago. Baron's Dim Sum now occupies that space.

I have little beef with dry-cleaners as it's a service that people need. The explosion of nail salons drives me nuts, as does the dwindling number of hardware stores. Gyms - I suppose the free market will determine that one, although I'm surprised that these newer buildings don't provide their own.
