Full FULL reveal at 347 Bowery

Workers this week removed the last of the scaffolding and sidewalk bridge surrounding 347 Bowery.

The Annabelle Selldorf-designed 13-story luxury building at Third Street features five stacked town homes.

This angle also allows for a view of the now-demolished former 3 E. Third St. Brooklyn-based Barrett Design is dropping in a seven-story mixed-use condoplex on that lot...

As for No. 347, the homes will sit atop the two-story commercial base... which looks pretty bank-branch drab compared to the residential portion of the condoplex...

...drab like the former Chase branch on Second Avenue and St. Mark's Place.

I saw this building the other day and wondered where the hell did it come from. This may be the ugliest structure in the bowery next to that concentration game piece design by East 6th and 7th street, it looks like something from a dystopian society movie.

I second JQ LLC's reaction to this concrete boil.

I am having a hard time thinking of another new building in the city that is this ugly. Really, at a loss.

It's not that this building is so ugly its the bizarre combination of new buildings here which make it looked as if the city planners let these developers do whatever they wanted.... oh wait.... that''s exactly what happened.

The Chase bank actually has some design to it and for some reason, I've always kind of liked it. That Bowery building is a mind-numbing black hole of imaginative despair.

The building will also serve as a launching pad for the SpaceX reusable rocket program. Residents are advised to keep all windows closed during all rocket launches and landings.

The day banks don't look drab is the day I'm taking my money out of them. I don't want fancy bank buildings.

That former Chase building is a classic! Please, no more disparaging remarks about it.

The Bowery building definitely wins the fugly award. All the charm of Soviet bloc housing, but at NYC prices.

those balconies look bigger than the apartments also. It looks like it was designed for raves. Good thing NYPD is powerless against rambunctious late night house parties.

Go shoot the architect if you don't like his/her/its design. Stop bellyaching about everything that you don't find aesthetically pleasing. Remember, Monet, Van Gogh and Pollock were all laughed at when they had new ideas.
