'The Deuce' on 2nd Avenue

Crews for the HBO series "The Deuce" continue to film around the neighbor... and EVG regular Daniel shared these photos ... showing some 1970s-era vehicles parked along Second Avenue (the show likes Second Avenue) between 10th Street and 11th Street that will be put to use during filming later...

... Lola Sáenz passed along this photo from the morning rush...

Meanwhile, the Second Avenue branch of Tompkins Square Bagels is getting a throwback look...

Oh! And at the movies... EVG reader Alta Tseng shared this transformation of the Village East Cinema at 12th Street...

"The Deuce," a porn-industry drama set in the 1970s, is now in its second season...

Way to monopolize bus transit space as the service is going through persistently constant delays. Another shithead decision by the starfuckers at the mayor's office of movies and t.v.

So happy the producers chose this theater to spend their rental dollars, which will help preserve the interior and exterior of this beautiful movie palace.

Great, now our area can be made to look like sleazy old-time 42nd St., complete with "adult movie theater"! I feel like I'm living in a topsy-turvy world.

If anyone wanted to make someplace look like the "old" East Village, where will they have to go to shoot THAT footage?

Yikes. People need to lighten up. It’s NYC for crying out loud. And the two or three blocks that surround this area have really taken it on the chin over the past couple of years. Movie and TV shoots bring exposure and much needed business to the area. The few shops still standing on 2nd Avenue could actually use the hustle and bustle. On behalf of the entire block : Thanks HBO and more please.
