Live look-in at National Pancake Day on IHOP Way

Here's a noontime look at the police barricades lining 14th Street between Second Avenue and Third Avenue (IHOP Way!) on this National Pancake Day at IHOP.

So free short stacks of pancakes until 7 p.m. New this year: Pancake Day Prizes! Including! Free Pancakes for Life. (Presumably you will need to eat those at an IHOP... and they won't magically appear in your apartment whenever you wanted. Doesn't hurt to ask for clarification, though.)

Thanks to Pinch for the photo!

Last weekend I made some pancakes from scratch - it was fairly easy and delicious - no need for the packaged crap with unpronouncable chemical contents. Made a big batch and kept in the fridge for a couple of days. Real maple syrup goes without saying. Can you pay extra for real syrup at IHOP?

No thank you. I'll stick to homemade pancakes.

Well I ate there on Tuesday. It was FREE for Free Pancake Day and it was a fun thing to do. And the homeless guy next to me who didn't order anything extra that he would have to pay for was asked by the waitperson if he wanted water and was treated with respect. Kudos to IHop.
