Once the resident agrees, the operator would then remotely unlock the courtyard door as well as the entry door to the building. This building has a beautiful courtyard which has a secure entry, as well as another entry door from the courtyard to the building. The service also provides monitoring of the cameras and can intervene over a speaker in the event that there is loitering at the building. Not sure that the East Village is overflowing with doorman buildings where this service is replacing the doorman, but at this specific building, it's probably a step up from a traditional intercom, which 95% of the East Village currently use for visitor entry. Hope that helps define the service a bit more for all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5694390946037511355.post-20089871722731756672011-01-28T10:06:58.824-05:002011-01-28T10:06:58.824-05:00a virtual doorman is a service that has a camera a...a virtual doorman is a service that has a camera and "talks" the the visitor and ascertains whether to let them in or not, and then acts accordingly.

actually "they" control the buzzer.

more progress in the effort to replace people with machines.blue glassnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5694390946037511355.post-65613015548952304792011-01-28T09:38:02.896-05:002011-01-28T09:38:02.896-05:00What a deal!What a deal!Bowery Boogiehttp://www.boweryboogie.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5694390946037511355.post-48615144416144450942011-01-28T07:07:26.012-05:002011-01-28T07:07:26.012-05:00What is a Virtual Doorman????What is a Virtual Doorman????Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
