You can donate a coat at this 3rd Avenue pop-up shop through Saturday



The 30th annual New York Cares Coat Drive is underway... and starting today (through Saturday), you can donate a new or gently used coat at a pop-up location at 111 Third Ave. between 13th Street and 14th Street...



The hours today through Saturday: 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Otherwise, local NYPD Precincts are also accepting the coat donations through Dec. 31.

The 30th annual New York Cares coat drive is underway



The 30th annual New York Cares Coat Drive got underway yesterday.

At some point this winter, organizers say they will be delivering their 2 millionth coat in the drive's history.

In the East Village, you can drop off coats through the end of the year at the 9th Precinct on Fifth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue and Police Service Area 4 at 130 Avenue C and Eighth Street. Find a full list of distribution centers here.

Annual New York Cares coat drive underway



The 29th annual New York Cares Coat Drive kicked off on Tuesday at the Bowery Mission.

Organizers hope to collect 125,000 coats this year through Dec. 31.

In the East Village, you can drop off coats at the 9th Precinct on Fifth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue and Police Service Area 4 at 130 Avenue C and Eighth Street. There's also a drop-off spot at the Manhattan Mini Storage on Second Avenue between Second Street and First Street. Find a full list of distribution centers here.

Annual New York Cares coat drive underway


The 28th annual New York Cares coat drive started up this week with a group distributing 50 winter jackets to residents of the Bowery Mission.

Per ABC 7:

Individuals and organizations can donate gently used, freshly laundered coats at hundreds of locations throughout the five boroughs through Saturday, December 31, including at all New York City police precincts ... major transit hubs, and many other sites.

As a new addition to this year's New York Cares Coat Drive, individuals can text "COAT" to 41444 to donate $20 to cover the cost and delivery of one new coat to New Yorkers in need of warmth this winter.

Since 1989, the New York Cares Coat Drive has collected 1.7 million winter coats for men, women, and children in need throughout the city.

In the East Village, you can drop off coats at the 9th Precinct on Fifth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue and Police Service Area 4 at 130 Avenue C and Eighth Street. Winter coat drive underway at Maryhouse on East 3rd Street

Maryhouse (part of The Catholic Worker) is in need of blankets and winter clothing. Please bring new or gently used blankets, jackets, coats, and sweaters directly to Maryhouse located at 59 E. Third St. between 1st and 2nd Avenues. Bring your items any day of the week between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Reminders: The New York Cares 26th annual Coat Drive continues

With greater urgency this year, New York Cares is launching its 26th Annual Coat Drive.

The agency says it has received requests for 100,000 coats for men, women, and children.

Typically it collects 80,000.

Through December 31, donations of gently used, freshly laundered coats will be collected at hundreds of locations throughout the five boroughs including all NYPD precincts, New York Penn Station, Atlantic Avenue – Barclays Center, and Grand Central Terminal.

You may search for a drop-off location here. Around here you can take coats to the 9th Precinct at 321 E. Fifth St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue ... or the Police Service Area 4 at 130 Avenue C at East Eighth Street.
