D.L. Cerney is now open on 9th Street

As we noted a few weeks ago, the D.L. Cerney boutique was opening a new storefront for its hand-made, vintage-style clothes at 324 E. Ninth St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue.

EVG correspondent Steven caught up with co-owner Linda St. John yesterday outside the now-open shop.

St. John closed her previous location on Seventh Street at the end of 2012 after 28 years in business ... to leave the city for awhile and focus on her art and writing.

Her hours are noon to 8 p.m.

D.L. Cerney returning to the East Village

In the past two summers, the D.L. Cerney boutique returned to the East Village, selling its hand-made, vintage-style clothes in a pop-up space on Ninth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue.

Now, however, it appears that D.L. Cerney is making the Ninth Street stay permanent. A D.L. Cerney "open soon" sign arrived at 324 E. Ninth St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue.

D.L. Cerney closed up shop on Seventh Street at the end of 2012 after 28 years in business. At the time, co-owner Linda St. John told Jeremiah Moss that the closure wasn't about rent, just about time. She wanted to leave the city for awhile and focus on her art and writing.

There isn't any word on an opening date. The space was previously home to Dusty Buttons, which closed last month.

Vintage clothing boutique D.L. Cerney returns to the East Village for the summer

The D.L. Cerney boutique is back again for part of the summer... setting up (a pop up) shop in the Umbrella Arts Gallery at 317 E. Ninth St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue.

You can browse the hand-made, vintage-style clothes every day from noon to 8 p.m. through July. (D.L. Cerney is still selling clothes online.)

After 28 years in business, D.L. Cerney closed up shop on East Seventh Street at the end of 2012.

D.L. Cerney temporarily returns to the East Village

After 28 years of selling hand-made, vintage-style clothes in the East Village, the D.L. Cerney boutique closed up shop on East Seventh Street at the end of 2012.

Co-owner Linda St. John told Jeremiah Moss that she wanted to get out of NYC for awhile and focus on her art and writing.

St. John has returned to the East Village — temporarily anyway. She will be displaying her wares at Umbrella Arts, 317 E. Ninth St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue through Aug. 30…
