The former Le Jardin space is for rent on Avenue C

While there isn't a sign up yet, the former Le Jardin space at 115 Avenue C is now for rent.

According to the listing at Eastern Consolidated, the asking rent is $11,576 a month. However, there is also an undisclosed sum for key money for the 2,200-square-foot space between East Seventh Street and East Eighth Street. The location includes outdoor seating on the ground floor and a terrace upstairs.

The low-key French bistro lasted 10 months here, closing in June. The previous tenant, the restaurant Apartment 13, made it one year.

Selling off Le Jardin Bistro

Dave on 7th and East Village Eats passed along word yesterday of an auction at the former Le Jardin Bistro.

The French restaurant closed several weeks ago after 11 months at 115 Avenue C between East Seventh Street and East Eighth Street. The original Le Jardin Bistro was on Cleveland Place until its 2010 closure. They opened in 1995.

Ownership did not say why they closed this time around, only offering a thank you to their staff and customers.

The space on C was previously home to Apartment 13.

An EVG reader hadn't seen the low-key French bistro open since at least last Thursday.

Turns out there's a good reason for that: Management left this message Monday on Facebook

It is with a broken heart that I need to inform you that Le Jardin Bistro has closed its doors.

I want to thank all of you, employees, customers, friends for helping us to make the past year so special.

My kitchen crew was amazing and gave it all, to allow us every day to serve exceptional food: Thank you.

Customers: You have been supportive and your friendliness has been really inspiring. On the behalf of all the members past and present of Le Jardin Bistro, I thank you for all you did for us and with us.

The revived restaurant at 115 Avenue C between East Seventh Street and East Eighth Street opened last August in the former Apartment 13 space. The original Le Jardin Bistro was on Cleveland Place until its 2010 closure. They opened in 1995.

Here's more information about the new restaurant that opened Monday in the former Apartment 13 space at 115 Avenue C between East Seventh Street and East Eighth Street.

Turns out it is Le Jardin Bistro, which was originally housed on Cleveland Place until its 2010 closure. (They opened in 1995. Here's a review from the Times.)

A rep for the restaurant emailed us info yesterday:

The new outpost of Le Jardin Bistro will serve well-priced classic dishes like rich and hearty Cassoulet, traditional Steak Frites and Bouillabaisse paired with an equally accessible wine list.

Divided between two floors, Le Jardin Bistro boasts a stately and inviting oyster bar, dining room and small patio on the first floor with an open kitchen, additional dining room and namesake ‘jardin’ seating open year-round on the second floor.

Here's a dinner menu.
