Os Gêmeos on 2nd Avenue

If you been walking on Second Avenue near East First Street, then you've likely seen the new mural going up next to the former BP station on the corner.

As BoweryBoogie noted yesterday, this is the work of the Brazilian twins Os GêmeosGoggla shared the above photo from yesterday… we walked by earlier this morning, and they were just starting work…

… and a view from the cherry picker…

This street mural by Brazilian street artists and identical twins Os Gêmeos went up at the Bowery and Houston last summer...

And, sometime during the weekend, it was removed...

Last day for the Os Gêmeos mural on Bowery and Houston?

This street mural by Brazilian street artists and identical twins Os Gêmeos went up at the Bowery and Houston last summer... Today is apparently the last day for the mural ... (The Deitch Projects Web site confirms this.) L Magazine (via BoweryBoogie) reported that Shepard Fairey will be the next (and last?) artist to paint the billboard space at this intersection.

At Bowery and Houston.

And the finale:

Will be on the wall for the next 12 months.

And has the Vulture noted, the mural is dedicated to Dash Snow.
