Red Koi Organic Sushi Lounge has closed on 1st Avenue

An EVG reader notes that in fairly quick succession, Red Koi Organic Sushi Lounge at 57 First Ave. closed... was served an eviction notice from the Marshal and put on the market.

We didn't know too much about this restaurant between Third Street and Fourth Street... it opened, as we recall, in late 2014...

As you will no doubt remember, the space was home, too briefly, to the Pudgie's-Nathan's-Arthur Treacher's action-packed combo during the glorious summer of 2012. That fryplex of fatty fun was sadly gone by the end of 2012. But we have our memories. And photos.

The listing for the space isn't online just yet. It was posted at $7,500 after Pudgie's died.

The Pudgie's-Nathan's-Arthur Treacher's action-packed combo is officially dead, officially

Back in the dark days of January, signs went up noting that the Pudgie's-Nathan's-Arthur Treacher's action-packed combo was "closed for renovations."

[The darks days of January]

The fryplex of fatty fun opened on First Avenue in June... by the fall, the joint was for sale. The asking price was $189,000.

We held out hope for a return, a renovated restaurant where we could stand proudly under the Pudgie's canopy out front.

But that was not to be. We spotted this sign last weekend...

Farewell, our feathered Pudgie friend... farewell... until we see you again at the West Islip branch...

Oh, and on a more serious note... the asking rent for this space between Third Street and Fourth Street is $7,500.

EV Grieve Eatery Etc.: Pudgie's-Nathan's-Arthur Treacher's closes for renovations; new 4th Avenue bar opens

The Pudgie's-Nathan's-Arthur Treacher's action-packed combo opened on First Avenue in June... by the fall, the joint was for sale. At last look, the asking price was $189,000.

Meanwhile, several readers have noted that the space has been closed of late...

...and a sign on the door points to a "renovation."

Will the former former King Gyro continue to be a Pudgie's-Nathan's-Arthur Treacher's? Or will it become a new combo of fastish food?

-----

Back in October, that gigantic Fourth Avenue bar the Forum "closed for renovations." And now, the space is back open as The Royal...

...we don't know a thing about the new venture... kind of looks the same as Forum, at least from the outside. We were never inside.

-----

...And on Second Avenue, don't be alarmed if you see the gate down at the Stage...

... the EVG favorite is closed today for Ukrainian Christmas ...

Owning the Pudgie's-Nathan's-Arthur Treacher's is now $61k closer to reality

The Pudgie's-Nathan's-Arthur Treacher's action-packed combo that opened this past summer on First Avenue has been on the block... and now, it will cost even less to own the business. The price was reduced by 24.4 percent ($61k) last week ... the asking price is now $189,000.

Per the listing at Trulia:
New Franchise restaurant ...together all in one resturant for Sale. Resturant features in low competition area. Very high traffic location. 10 year lease, low low rent. High Income. Includes all fixtures, inventory and lease. Owner is relocating. Very Motivated to sell.

Now who's motivated to buy?

The Pudgie's-Nathan's-Arthur Treacher's canopy arrives on First Avenue

On Saturday afternoon, workers put up the new sidewalk canopy thing for the incoming Pudgie's-Nathan's-Arthur Treacher's action-packed combo at the site of the former King Gyro between Third Street and Fourth Street.

And does it seem strange that the canopy doesn't actually go to the restaurant's front door?
