Guess they couldn't find any takers for the space. As Jeremiah and Jill have reported, this stretch of First Avenue, particularly the east side of the street, is getting pretty empty.

Getting a little empty on First Avenue between 13th and 14th
Not sure when this happened, but Pistahan, a Filipino joint on First Avenue between 13th Street and 14th Street, is now closed.

Guess they couldn't find any takers for the space. As Jeremiah and Jill have reported, this stretch of First Avenue, particularly the east side of the street, is getting pretty empty.

The space that Momofoku Noodle bar now occupies used to be a Filipino joint too -- Krystal's Cafe. But Elvie's turo turo is still standing (but for how long?--their spot is prime for greedy real-estaters to covet). Nonetheless, I predict a Momofoku Ko take-over of that joint and all over first avenue.
ReplyDeleteI need to get back to Elvie's one of these days.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think, shall we just rename this stretch of First Avenue to Momofoku Place?
If Ko will be naming this stretch it'd be -- Momofok U
ReplyDeleteThere was also that Filipino place on 14th St near the new Duane Reade, old Gristedes that closed maybe a year ago.
