The Shepard Fairey mural is just a hole-y mess now
Last night (or early this morning), more of the Shepard Fairey mural on Houston and the Bowery has been ripped apart...

If you'd like to make personal attacks and libelous claims against people and businesses, then you may do so on your own social media accounts. Also, comments predicting when a new business will close ("I give it six weeks") will not be approved.
Not a great Shepard Fairey fan, but really, what is the point of this mindless hooliganism? Am I missing something?
ReplyDeleteNow someone is gonna mess up the Os Gemeos. Cause everyone is gonna think it's OK and they won't know the difference and will ruin it!
ReplyDeleteThose little bits of the Os Gemeos shining through are fantastic. I had seen them priming what I assumed to be the Os Gemeos mural before this one went up and it was almost painful to see it go. I wonder if they planned to bring it back -- is that why the Fairey was built out on its own extension?
ReplyDeleteI took some photos of this today as well, planning to post on it tomorrow. I had also noted the "Bring Back Keith Haring" plea on the wall next to SF's plaque.
After submitting photos of the first round of holes last week, I've been increasingly dismayed by the ongoing vandalism. Whether or not you dig Mr. Fairey's work, this really just sucks.
