I live on 1st Ave & work on 5th St between 1-2. The Rite Aid on the corner of 5th St & 1st, 81 First Ave, has not shoveled their sidewalk — this happens every single time it snows. I've called the store, called the district manager, tried to get a message higher up than that. I've asked the precinct to say something. I'm sick of this & it's obviously a danger.

First Avenue Rite Aid still hasn't shoveled their sidewalk

Have you tried calling 311 and reporting them? Maybe getting a ticket will get through to them.
ReplyDeleteI'm also sick of this happening - it's consistently the same buildings. The one that frustrates me most is the synagogue on Clinton Street, next to the Clinton Street Bakery, which only shovels a small pathway from the street to their door.
ReplyDeleteSomeone ought to take note of all these non-shovelers, so that everyone can see who's up to this, and for stores/restaurants, avoid spending our money there.
call them and tell them your next call is to NY1
ReplyDeleteor
tell them you are "the attorney for..."
or that your brother is an attorney
one of these usually works
I thought business owners/landlords were required by law to shovel the sidewalk or face fines. Is that true?
ReplyDeleteI've called Rite Aid's district manager, 311, the community board & the block association. I've stopped by the precinct & asked them to say something. I just popped into the store & the manager claimed she has never spoken to me. A lie - I have called several times every day it snows. She may also have been the person who claimed "he's out there right now" the last time it snowed. He wasn't. It happens every single time it has snowed, for years now. I'll try ny1 - thanks for that suggestion.
ReplyDeletesheesh- I finally thought to ask 311 for a time frame. They'll send an inspector within 3 to 7 business days. Well, *that* will do a lot of good.
