ReplyDeleteIs he sure that wasn't the floor beams taken out? Neighbors of that long-abandoned building on 4th and Bowery say they caught the owner carrying out floor timbers in hopes it would fall down.

ReplyDeletethey definitely weren't floorboards--they were neatly sawed lengths of tree limbs. maybe they took down a rogue tree from the rear garden.
given the state of this place, i wouldn't even be surprised if a tree was growing inside the house.
Don't know about trees, but I bet they're doing a gut renovation and stripping the place bare.
