ReplyDeletewhat a great old picture of abe
ReplyDeleteprobably when he only had the corner, a counter and a few tables
and the best fries
RIP
Wow, what a great photo, only sorry that so much it depicts is gone now - even the great old cobblestone street, always so much fun to cross wearing high heels.
ReplyDeletegreat shot!
ReplyDeleteI remember all that, even the cobblestoned street...so sad still about Abe...and I miss the Deli so much. Katz's is great, but too far to walk on a cold day.
ReplyDeleteVery sad. The Deli is missed.
ReplyDeleteIs the fate of every corner in New York to become another bank branch?
CitiBank now opened a massive branch on Union Square where the old Virgin music store once stood. A sad statement for the music industry and Union Square. I walked by there on evening when they were holding some sort of tasteless opening party. All bankers should be hiding their faces in shame, not celebrating our depression. Sorry, "recession". Oh, right, I forgot, we are supposedly in a phase of "economic recovery" now.
