A note for the Prune brunch crowds

We've previously noted the weekend brunch lines outside Prune on East First Street...


...something that Prune's next-door neighbors — the Lower Eastside Girls Club — are now politely noting ...


Of course, not everyone is paying attention just yet...

    That sign is for the little people, not the people who are waiting for brunch, who all, incidentally, know how to talk on cell phones. They're very impressive with their mouths open and their lips moving.

    the owner has said, in her write-ups, that she no longer tries to please the neighbors...
    and more.
    i believe she was in the post and the times.

    Ha, why is the LES Girls Club Cafe CLOSED during those brunch hours? If I were them, I'd be serving some damn brunch too... especially with the Elephant now gone.

    Screw it, I'm bringing a breakfast burrito food truck to that block.

    "brunch lines" never cease to amaze me, having been a long time resident of the east village/l.e.s. i mean, why do people wait for food at prune (though good) or worse, clinton street bakery??? they must be listed in the timeout guide books. seriously. go home. or eat in your own neighborhood. i do yearn for the day when brunch at noon ANYWHERE in the 'hood was still an empty-seated affair.

    why is it that people who are willing, even eager, to wait in line for food tend to have the same personality of total entitlement? what's the connection? another urban mystery.

    Prune - Westville - 7A - they all boast incredible lines every weekend, while other just as fine places languish half-empty. It's like the old Soviet Union, you saw a line and got in it without bothering to ask why. (But you pay a hell of a lot more for what you get.)

    I am also mystified by the desire to wait in a line. But, so be it. The places I go never have lines, have great food, company and even better prices. Let these people waste their lives in lines, leaving more room for me to enjoy the neighborhood.

    I think they just took the word "Hot" out of that sign, But I still know what they mean (wink) Oh Yeah.
