  4. Ok, this is amazing, because I helped this lady cross the street on Sunday early evening (when this was taken), a block south of where this was taken on the same side of the street! I helped her across 9th, from her apartment to the where the Startbucks is. This is her for sure, the boots/hair/dress combo make it hard mix her up.

She asked me to help her, and in an old school Polish/NYC accent immediately started complaining about all the immigrants in the neighborhood! I have an alarming tolerance (affinity even?) for super old school grandma racism. I played along (yeah, yeah, whatever, she's old). I have a feeling she waited until a young-ish caucasian (ie: me) came by to help her. I swear this photo was taken not 20 seconds after I left her in front of the Starbucks.

And based on our exchange these sailors made her month.

  7. Gareth-

Love your comment about old lady racism, but I can't believe you referred to a USMC lance corporal and corporal as 'sailors'. :D

  8. Glad someone else caught the fact that they are not sailors. Awesome picture all the same.

  9. Doesn't matter to me how many men have helped this little old charmer! I think she's got it right and I would be thrilled if A hunky marine spent 5 minutes helping me out - oh wait, I'm physically capable of helping out the little old lady. OO-RAH - SEMPER FI
