Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream now open on Seventh Street
Thanks to the multiple tipsters who pointed out that the Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream shoppe is now open on Seventh Street just east of Second Avenue... And, apparently, they are happy to be here.
I'll be at Big Gay myself. These Van Leewen people stuck their chalkboard right in the middle of the sidewalk so no one can get by. Welcome to the nabe & we're SOOOOOOOO happy you and your chalkboard and your $7 cones is here!!!
I live around the corner and bought a pint of mint chip today. It is very good but cost $8.50. I will likely continue buying my ice cream at Sundaes and Cones.

How far away will this be from the Big Gay Ice Cream joint, also slated to open somewhere on 7th?
