In Tompkins Square Park — Kirk, Spock and Gottfried

Even though the new "Star Trek" is playing tonight ... someone brought along the old guys...


...as well as Gilbert Gottfried, who for some reason introduced the film ...


... and made Gottfried-like faces.

    I think that Gilbert was there because he guest starred as a Tribble on the original series.

    although i am against corporate interests invading the park, i am a HUGE gilbert gottfried fan. does he live downtown?

    Geez Gilbert, that shirt might have been more appropriate for introducing "Rescue from Gilligan's Island."

    @glamma I've run into Gottfried a bunch of times on Avenue A, so I believe he lives in the area.
