Stranded East River cat now has a Facebook page

Yesterday, we passed along word of a cat stuck on a barge in the East River just off the shore ... Since then, someone has created a Facebook page for the stranded kitty ...

Per the Facebook page, it appears that some volunteers are at the scene to try to rescue the cat.

  1. Have we sunk so low that no one can even rescue a cat that's .right. .there. without setting up another Facebook page?

God forbid we speak to another person.

  5. Ive been out saving the cat all day and come back to see these comments. Ha! It really made me laugh. I was the one who took the pic and saw the cat first and gotta say I've been laughing about the facebook group since it went up. Genius.

  6. Anon 1 and Stedman, I guess you didn't read the comments in the original post, but multiple agencies were called and none would help. If this get the attention of an east sider with a boat or someone else able to assist it's fantastic.

  7. Yeah - this seems like a good use of FB. It provided a point for people to coordinate and communicate what was going on...
