    Stuy town will always be just that, not even worth a geographic title. Like Staten Island or New Jersey.

    That's complete bull, about the EV only being christened so in the '80s. Probably written by some ignorant newbie. I moved here in 1967 and the place was already being called the East Village, to distinguish it from the Lower East Side and Alphabet Town. People need to check their facts.
