Thank you

Well, it could have been a lot worse in the neighborhood. As it was, though... the storm was bad enough ... knocking down trees, flooding basements and stranding many people... thank you to everyone who shared photos, anecdotes and information about Hurricane Irene this weekend... thanks to the EVG regulars — Bobby Williams, blue glass, Crazy Eddie, Dave on 7th, John Marshall Mantel and Shawn Chittle — who sent along reports ... thanks to the businesses that stayed open this weekend to serve the neighborhood — it wasn't always easy... thanks to everyone for reading the site... thanks for sticking together ...

    I love the second photo. Aside from the fact it's a dead ringer for Lady Gaga, I like this progressive idea that I can break into a car, jam a branch through the window and blame inclement weather.

    no, thank YOU,evg -- I appreciate having on such timely and on-the-scene reporting! The Grieve reminds me of my hometown weekly newspaper, The Shoreline Times, but without all the church supper photos. Hyperlocal news indeed.

    I do, however, think you could add a police blotter.

    the water and the wind that irene brought weren't artisanal, thus she has been gentrified and moved out of nyc

    off to get my raft and scuba suit to get to work, i hope the mayor implemented raft and scuba lanes...

    p.s. this blog "explore issues confronting contemporary cities and provide a public place and online forum for sharing ideas and practical solutions... more so than that "lab". and there's no attire needed to be street-mart...
