Today's sign of the apocalypse: A mini golf-bocce ball-nightclub combo on University Place

The 16,000-square-foot Greenwich Village Country Club is coming this fall from the Bowlmor Lanes folks, Eater reports. Oh, and there's shuffleboard too. At University and 13th Street.

  1. That is SOME imagineering, Bowlmor! Take bowling, America's premiere blue-collar pastime, and turn it into a "luxury experience" complete with 'celebrity chef and "semi- private banquette seating?!" Whoa...No one's EVER thought of doing THAT in NYC before! And you're gonna do the same thing to mini-golf? Stop it man, you're BLOWING MY MIND!

    Oh, and "who doesn't love mini-golf?" I doesn't!!!

  4. Hey if it results in frat-hoes asking the question: "Guys, should we hit the bars on Ave B? or should we check out the new Bowlmor scene instead?"
    then, this is great news.

  5. Yea - this is awesome. Keep all of the B&T in one place all night. Less people in the EV, so I support it! And I'm mildly jealous...

  6. i don't know why people are so afraid of a bocce ball court, if any of you are REAL residents of the east village and the lower east side, then you would know there is a FREE bocce ball court in a (unnamed) park here.

  7. btw, i found an old photo (photo looks like it was taken circa 1970s, 1980s) of "first park" on e houston and first ave having a bocce ball court. first park no longer has a bocce court (but there is another one located a few blocks away).

  10. Anon 10:44 - you must never have gone to Brooklyn. Bocce Ball is everywhere there. Union Hall and Floyd's just to name two locations.
