THESE are the most popular places to eat in the 10003 zip?
The Post has this piece about the most popular eateries via 2011 credit-car transactions. Per the paper: "In an analysis of restaurant spending from 10 ZIP codes, diners popped up in six neighborhoods’ top-10 lists, said Bundle.com, miner of financial data."
According to this research, these are the favorite dining destinations in 10003:
• St. Mark's Market
• Mumbles
• The Smith
Huh? St. Mark's Market is fine, but is it really a dining destination? And Mumbles? Is it that popular?

I love st marks market but I can tell you with certainty that I have never "dined" there. I think I've been to mumbles once maybe 7 years ago.
ReplyDeleteMumbles and the Smith are terrible. If you like crap food and bad service, go there.
ReplyDeleteReal nice geography there pointing to the East & West Villages. Looks more like Kips Bay and Chelsea to me.
ReplyDeletelikewise, haven't been to mumbles since the mid-90's, but i like the façade and i hear the interior was recently renovated. food is mediocre but place has a warm, friendly, and comforting atmosphere
ReplyDeletebut this list is based on credit card transactions. there are a number of establishments that takes cash only
and these restos do not represent eateries in the ev; the eclectic and mix of ethnic foods aren't represented here
on the bright side, i guess, at least papa johns, ihop, 7-11 aren't on this list....well, not yet
