Bagels Return To The Lower East Side from Shawn Chittle on Vimeo.
Many thanks to Shawn Chittle for creating this video that takes us inside the coming soon Tompkins Square Bagels on Avenue A ... Among other things, owner Christopher Pugliese walks us through his unique bagel-making process...
Woo-woo!
ReplyDeleteWhat's your obsession with ths bagel guy Shawn. We have a bagel shop on the other end of Avenue A that's about to go under. Why not film them. We should be trying to save them, as they are about to go out of business.
Thanks Shawn! The bagel guy, he's your boy!
ReplyDeleteThose guys on down on the south side of A don't make their own bagels.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteWant to thank you for supporting and standing up for the little guy over the years! The stuff you did against the Westboro Baptist Church was particularly hilarious!
When Tompkins Square Bagels opens, please come by for a bagel on me. I was thinking of creating just for you by spreading an MRE on it and calling it the "Bradley Manning."
Great video by Shawn! Nice to see a business owner utilizing a local artist like Mosaic Man to make his sign instead of just hanging up something generic. Can't wait to try his bagels, sounds like they're going to be the real deal.
ReplyDeleteLove this video!!! Great job, Shawn! I CANNOT WAIT to get a bagel here!! Great bagels are so hard to find these days, I have nothing but tremendous confidence that Chris is going to make a perfect bagel. So happy about this!! MMmmmm!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about this place. As someone with Jewish roots and an appreciation for a good bagel, I'm really looking forward to Chris' desire for authenticity. I also love the emphasis on localization. I live around the corner, and I might be in every day once it opens.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this movie and info.
ReplyDeleteBefore watching I was reluctant to go there, and now look forward
I hope it'll be an asset to our block
Amen!
Holy shit my dude is ON POINT. Shipping up the oven from Florida? Nice.
ReplyDeleteI went by this morning (Nov. 28), door was open, someone inside talking on phone. Said they're opening Dec. 1.
