ReplyDeleteActually, if we REALLY want to be pedantic, the last time Guns N' Roses played The Ritz, it was 1991 -- when The Ritz moved uptown to the old Studio 54 site. `Twas at that show wherein they filmed the video for "You Could Be Mine." And not to sound like James Murphy, but I WAS THERE. I still have my voucher. Yay.
ReplyDeleteRenaming the venue to something that it was when GnR first played there is the dumbest thing I've heard all day. Why on earth would it even matter what the venue is named when GnR plays here in 2012.

ReplyDeleteIt'd be great if Velvet Revolver and the [2002] Guns 'N' Roses would merge for the concert at Webster Hall. (and that guitarist can wear, instead of the KFC, an IHOP or 7-11 bucket or a fro-yo cup to reflect the sign of the times in the EV).

ReplyDeleteI've already seen GnR bassist Tommy Stinson there -- in 1986, with the Replacements. Paul broke his hand when someone threw a beer can and Bob got thrown out of the band shortly afterward...
